Since June 2007, 91.1 The Bridge (Former KAOS 91.1) has been promoting the values which have been foundational in building a strong Wood Buffalo Region through our vision of “Exposing Hope through Music Talk and Action”. Our strong launch is a result of strong community support from people who believe in healthy media.
We are a values-oriented community Christian Radio Station. We are owned by a registered Canadian charity [Kings Kids Promotions Outreach Ministries Inc.], and operated by people who live in this community.
During the day, the station caters to a 25-54 audience with its variety of Hot Adult Contemporary [AC] and Contemporary Hit Radio [CHR]. Our research indicates that our average listener is approximately 34 year old Christian female.
Featured artists include: For King and Country, Jordan Feliz, Colton Dixon, Feancesca Battistelli, Tenth Avenue North, Switchfoot, Danny Gokey, David Dunn, Hillsong Young & Free, Hollyn, Family Force 5, Blanca, Tauren Wells, MercyMe, Hawk Nelson, The Afters, We Are Messengers, Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch, TobyMac, NF, Ryan Stevenson, Phil Wickham, Twenty One Pilots, Newsboys, NEEDTOBREATHE and Coldplay.
91.1 The Bridge is a fun, relevant radio station aiming to encourage listeners through professional and entertaining announcers that can clearly identify and communicate with the station’s listeners.
91.1 The Bridge is more than a radio station, it’s an initiative! We’re passionate about reaching, building and activating people to make a positive impact in the world. Unlike any other radio station in the market, our objective is not only to entertain and inform, but to provide listeners with a vital community resource that will open doors to help, hope, and life options. We “GIVE HELP an ADDRESS” by featuring social service agencies and helping connect them to people in need of their services.
91.1 The Bridge is full of “social enterprise” through our Bridge community initiatives which include partnerships with the education, business, social profit sector, public health and religious sectors. Located in Fort McMurray Composite High School, the station is involved in supporting local talent and Media Literacy designed to increase student awareness of media impact, and so much more. Some successes have been the KAOS KAFÉ at InterPlay and the KAOS REPO CO--a street team which hit the streets of Fort McMurray during the summer of 2008
91.1 The Bridge prides itself on being the only station which offers a “family friendly guarantee,” We have a strong appeal to a more mature audience and individuals who are established in our community because of our talk programs such as Focus on the Family. We serve adult listeners as well as the younger demographic.
