MP David Yurdiga promotes local charity and radio station on Parliament Hill
FORT MCMURRAY, AB – Fort McMurray-Cold Lake MP David Yurdiga addressed the Speaker of the House of Commons regarding King’s Kids Promotion Outreach Ministries Inc. and its initiatives through 91.1 The Bridge.
In a video sent out via Twitter on March 22, Yurdiga discussed the recent Fundraising Banquet and Auction, which supports King’s Kids Promotions, 91.1 The Bridge and the newly formed The District Recording Studio, in partnership with the Fort McMurray Public School District.
The radio station has been experiencing difficulty meeting their operational budget needs since the downturn in the economy and the after effects of the Horse River Wildfire in 2016.
“Mr. Speaker, I had the honour to participate in a fundraising event for King’s Kids Promotions in Fort McMurray,” said Yurdiga. “King’s Kids Promotions is an initiative committed to sharing hope and love to the world through theatrical and musical presentations, as well as practical services projects, community and family events, and humanitarian aid.”
Yurdiga spoke on the many challenges faced in the world today and the necessity to have positive community programming to strengthen families and the next generation, which he called imperative.
He then went on to mention 91.1 The Bridge, the first spin-off ministry of King’s Kids Promotions. He mentioned the Bridge’s base as a faith-driven station and its unique approach to radio.
“Their mission is exposing hope through relevant music, talk and action,” Yurdiga said. “More than just a radio station, The Bridge is the heartbeat of the community.”
The King’s Kids Promotions team wishes to extend thanks to Yurdiga for his dedication to promoting the Fort McMurray and Cold Lake regions, as well as his support for the important work done by this ministry.
“We are delighted to be recognized in this way. Thank you to our staff, board, volunteers and financial supporters for their eleven years of partnership,” said Rick Kirschner, Executive Director for Kings Kids Promotions.
